Douglas M. Greenland

Mr. Douglas M. “Elvis” Greenland, of Medina, passed away on February 6, 2017 at Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Doug was born in Medina, December 4, 1948, a son of the late John and Margaret T. (White) Greenland. He attended Medina schools and was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church and a former member of the Boy Scouts of America. Doug loved Elvis Presley and his music. He could often be seen around Medina playing Elvis tunes. Doug was self employed. He worked as a gardener, lawn worker, did snow removal and salvaged scrap metal. He enjoyed helping others. Survivors include his sister, Karen A. Dillon of Medina; his brother, Arthur Greenland of Rochester; his niece, Julie (Charles) Johnston of PA; a great niece, Abby Johnston; a great nephew, Sean Fenton; several cousins and good friends, Pam and Joseph Misiti. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother, John “Jackie” Greenland, III and a nephew, Michael Patrick Dillon. There will be no prior calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11AM and interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
