Carlton J. Prawel, Jr.

Carlton J. Prawel Jr., 79, went into rest peacefully, with his family by his side at Medina Memorial Hospital in the early morning on February 5, 2017. Carlton Joseph the oldest son was born in Clarence, New York on March 13, 1937 at 8:20pm to Carlton and Blanche M. (Fish) Prawel Sr. Carl married his best friend and love of his life Janice L. Wood on February 26, 1959 and enjoyed 55 years of wedded bliss along with their six children, and ten grandchildren. Retired owner/operator of Prawel’s Auto Service. Family and friends were an important part of Dad’s life. Carl had a passion for sports, hunting and fishing. Carl enjoyed cooking and baking. Mom and Dad traveled and cruised for many years together. Survivors include his six children: Christine (Scott) Mason, Carol Callina, Carlton J. (Donna) Prawel III, Elmarie (John) Kage, Robert (Cindy) Prawel, and Mark (Tina) Prawel; 10 grandchildren: Scott (Stephanie), Nicholas, and Mitchell (Ai) Mason, Joseph (Kristina) Callina, Stephanie Prawel, Joshua (Ryane) and Molly Prawel, Kevin and Ethan Kage, and Matthew Prawel. Four great grandchildren, Mia and Olivia Kujawa, Zoe Callina and Leia Prawel. His brothers, Albert Christian (Patricia) Prawel and John Prawel; sister in-law, Susan (Clint) Perkins; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carl was predeceased by his three sisters, Phyllis Seefeldt, Evelyn Smith and MaryEllen Genrich. Friends can call Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at (4-7:30) Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St, Medina where his funeral service will be held at 7:30PM following visitation. Inurnment will be in the family crypt at Boxwood Cemetery.
