Mrs. Margaret S. Johnson, of Medina, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Albion, January 29, 1940, a daughter of the late Wayne and Marie (Robinson) Sargent. A graduate of Albion High School, class of 1958 and the Roberts School of Beauty in 1959, she married Loren C. Johnson on August 19, 1961. For many years, she owned and operated Peg’s Beauty Salon in Medina. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church, Court Santa Maria #295, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and was a Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed bowling for years, travelling with the Hartland Senior Citizens and camping with the Apple Pushers Camping Group.
Survivors include her husband, Loren; 3 daughters, Laurie (Kevin) Lindsay of SC, Bonnie (Ray) Matuszak of Medina and Rebecca (Wayne) Montalvo of Medina; 8 grandchildren, Matthew Caldwell, Benjamin (Christie) Caldwell, Cheri (Trevor) Smith, Cori Matuszak, Jessica (Joe) Demmer, Kelsey Matuszak, Chantel and Christopher Montalvo; 12 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Carl “Sonny” (Pat) Sargent and William (Barb) Sargent both of Albion; her sister, Shirley (late Richard) Bielak; 2 brothers-in-law, Robert (Rose) Nickerson and Robert (Pat) Fox; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Brenda Louise Johnson; and 2 sisters, Elizabeth J. “Betty” Fox and Patricia M. Nickerson.
There will be no prior calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church at 11AM celebrated by The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans County, Holy Trinity Parish or a charity of one’s choice.
