Marian A. Evans

Marian A. Evans passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017. She was born on January 3, 1931 in the Town of Yates, a daughter of the late Edward and Viola (Mank) Goldsmith. After the passing of her mother at the age of 11 months, Marian went to live with her late aunt and uncle Mable and Will Geiger who raised her. She graduated from Lyndonville High School in 1949. In October of 1956 Marian married Alonzo Evans and together raised two sons. She was a loving and caring wife and mother and will be missed tremendously. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Norman (Myra) Goldsmith and Lloyd (Ruth) Goldsmith and a very special cousin, Marie Young. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Alonzo Evans; her two sons, Gary Evans and Kenneth Evans both of Medina; a grandson, Kyle (Lisa-Marie) Evans; a great-granddaughter, Malia Evans of Florida; sister in-law, Dorothy Flood; brother in-law, Donald Evans both of Medina; a nephew, Gary (Bonnie) Goldsmith of Florida; two nieces, Viola (Sam) Wahnon of Greenfield, NY and Linda (Gary) Houseman of Medina; and several cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her graveside committal service on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11AM in Bates Road Cemetery. Pastor Erik Olsen will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
