Mr. Paul P. McKee, of Medina, peacefully passed away on April 23, 2017 at his home under the care of Hospice and his family.
Mr. McKee was born in DuBois, PA, November 25, 1926, a son of the late Paul and Alice (Brady) McKee. On September 20, 1947, he married the former Florence Lucille Carr. They resided in DuBois until 1952 when they moved to New York State and settled in the Medina area. A US Navy veteran he served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Mr. McKee was a weight lifter, competed in competitions and enjoyed running. He had a great love for Bingo and cats. The McKee’s enjoyed camping and travelled every summer . He helped to create the Sampson Military Museum in Romulus, NY and him and Florence were caretakers of the Museum for fifteen years.
Mr. McKee was employed as a machinist at the Western Block Company in Lockport.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 70 years, Florence McKee; 3 daughters, Irene Hudomint of Royalton Center, Diana (Edward) Fackler of Medina and Deborah (Thomas) Koch of Vegas; his daughter-in-law, Sheryl McKee; 8 grandchildren, Larry Hudomint, David (Shauna) McKee, Scott (Deb) McKee, Doreen Maertin, James (Karlin) Grinnell, Daniel (Torie Parker) Grinnell, Alicia (Jordan) Copenhafer, and Amanda (Brett) Kast; several great grandchildren; his twin brother, James McKee of DuBois, PA and his sister, Ann Polohonki of Falls Creek, PA; 2 brothers-in-law, Norman and Melvin Carr; several nieces and nephews and dear friend and nurse, Gail Bloom. He was predeceased by his son, Duane McKee, son-in-law, Michael Hudomint, and his brother, Kay McKee.
Military graveside services were held at the Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, NY on Friday, April 28, 2017.
