Arlene M. Bensley, 76, of Tonawanda, formerly of Medina, NY entered into rest on Friday, May 31, 2019 at the Buffalo Hospice Residence in Cheektowaga.
She was born March 17, 1943 in Medina, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Nowak) Dujenski. She graduated from Medina High School, class of 1961. She worked for General Motors Tonawanda Powertrain Plant as an assembly line supervisor. Arlene retired from General Motors and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from SUNY at Brockport. She was a member of St. Timothy’s RC Church in Tonawanda, VFW Post #812 Ladies Auxiliary in El Paso, TX and also volunteered her time for the Republican Association. Arlene loved her family, children, grandchildren and her dog, Dori. She also enjoyed her soap operas, judge shows, the voice and her Facebook time.
Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her brother, Bernard Dujenski, brother in-law, Leonard Fraczak and nephew, Andrew Fraczak.
She is survived by her son, Gerald (Lynn) Bensley; daughters, Sandra Bensley and Tamara (Arnie) Allen; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; former husband, George Bensley; her sister, Lucretia Fraczak; sister in-law, Sandy Dujenski; several nieces, nephews and special family friend, Melissa Rider and family.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, June 8th from 12-2 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where her memorial service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will officiate and burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Buffalo, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
