Christopher Wilson died May 28, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He was born in Ottawa, Canada in 1949 and owned a home in Waterport since 1994. He was best known locally for his voluntary work with Project Life War Orphans Rehabilitation Program, as well as World Life Institute’s Center of Excellence in Medina. Christopher’s business, Civica, provided communications and advocacy services to non-profit organizations, and he traveled extensively for his company. He also made many overseas trips as a volunteer for Project Life. In his professional and humanitarian work, Chris was always a voice of reason where there was discord. He inspired sometimes disparate parties to overcome their differences and work together for common goals. He was a warm, compassionate and open-minded friend to his family and community.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah; son, Samuel (Lyndonville class of 2012); and many family members in Canada.
Chris was honored during a private ceremony and burial May 30.
In lieu of flowers, donations to World Life Institute’s programs would be appreciated: by mail to World Life Institute, Box 167, Waterport NY 14571; or online at Project Life War Orphans or the Center of Excellence.
