Dorothy M. Flood

Dorothy M. Flood, of Medina, passed away at the age of 94 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.

Born in the Town of Shelby on February 24, 1930, she was a daughter of the late George and Irene (Gardner) Evans. Growing up Dorothy worked alongside her siblings on her family farm. She graduated from Medina High School. Early on she worked for H.J. Heinz Co. in Medina. In April of 1956 she married James L. Flood. Mrs. Flood was a homemaker most of her life and loved to bake.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Linda (Gary) Houseman of Medina; granddaughter, Lisa Houseman; brother, Alonzo Evans; and nephews, Gary and Kenneth Evans.

Mrs. Flood was predeceased by her husband, James in 2008; her sister, Betty Evans in 2013; brothers, Donald Evans in 2020 and Leon Evans in 1994; and sister in-law, Marian Evans in 2017.

Her graveside committal service will be held on Monday, May 6 at 11AM in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
