Dorothy E. Pratt

Mrs. Dorothy E. (Winkley) Pratt, entered into rest Thursday morning, February 18, 2016 at the Martin-Linsin Residence in Albion. Born May 13, 1929 in Newfane, Mrs. Pratt was a daughter of the late George and Amanda (Wolfe) Winkley. She attended Albion schools and soon after married her husband, the late John H. Pratt, Jr. on April 24, 1948. Mrs. Pratt was a homemaker most of her life. She also volunteered at the Towne and Oak Orchard Elementary Schools, delivered Meals on Wheels, was a Cub Scout Den Mother and was a member of the Women’s Group. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, bird watching, loved the outdoors, nature and vacationing and fishing in the Thousand Islands. Mrs. Pratt will be remembered as a loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Survivors include her 2 sons, John (Sharlene) Pratt III and James (Kathy Babbitt) Pratt; a son in-law, Timothy Laird; 4 grandchildren, Sarah (Craig) Stalker, Eliza Damery, Ashton and Zachary Laird; 3 great-grandchildren, Alexandria Strong, Jenelle Stalker and Amelia Stalker; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Dean and Roxanne Pittman and the late Sarah Walter. Mrs. Pratt was predeceased by her husband, John H. Pratt, Jr. on May 15, 2012; her daughter, Diane E. Pratt-Laird on January 28, 2008; her granddaughter, Jenna H. Pratt on December 6, 2009; and 6 siblings, Edward Winkley, Vera Brigham, Marge Wilson, Winnie Webber, Rob Winkley and Ren Winkley. Friends may call from on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 (3-6PM) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina, where her memorial service will immediately follow at 6PM. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery, Town of Gaines, in the spring.
