Elizabeth M. Mielcarek

Elizabeth M. Mielcarek (nee Marciniak), of Medina, entered into rest on Monday, February 19, 2024 at the Orchard Manor Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 96.

Born on April 18, 1927 in Medina, she was a daughter of the late Francis M. and Pearl (Foreman) Marciniak. She graduated from Medina High School, Class of 1945. Mrs. Mielcarek married Stanley Mielcarek and the couple raised two sons, Terry and Bruce. Early on she worked as a telephone operator for the NY Telephone Co. in Lockport and later worked as a cook at Towne Elementary and Oak Orchard Elementary Schools in Medina. Mrs. Mielcarek was a longtime parishioner of Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church. She enjoyed arts and crafts and staying active through the Senior Citizens of Western Orleans and the Cornell Cooperative Extension.

She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Mielcarek in 1988; brother, Homer Marciniak in 2010; and son, Terry Mielcarek in 2023.

Survivors include her son, Bruce Mielcarek of Medina; and grandson, Joshua (Abby) Mielcarek of Gasport.

Services will be privately held by the family. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
