Justin R. Winkley, age 38, of Albion, passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, August 4, 2024.
Justin was born in Medina on October 3, 1985, a son of Todd R. Winkley and Joan M. (Capstick) Winkley. He grew up in Albion and moved to North Carolina when he was 18. There he started a family and worked for William T. Burnett as a line leader. On October 19, 2013, Justin sustained injuries in a motorcycle accident that left him quadriplegic for the remainder of his years. Shortly after, he moved back to Albion where he lived with his family. Justin loved his family, especially his children and his beloved dogs Mabel and Buffy. Since he was a child, he was a true Buffalo Bills fan. He loved hunting and fishing and after his accident, often dreamed about getting back out there. He enjoyed watching tv, especially Law & Order SVU and being on his computer. What he loved most was when his children came to visit him. He will be dearly missed.
Predeceased by his brother, Shawn T. Winkley on July 31, 2023; his uncle, Alvin Capstick; and cousin, Shawnie Gauthier.
Survivors include his son, Owen Winkley and daughter, Kaitlin Winkley of NC; mother, Joan Winkley (Tom Stirk); father, Todd (Tammy) Winkley; maternal grandparents, Walker and Shirley Capstick; paternal grandmother, Rebecca Eckerd; nephews, Tristan and Jordan Winkley; niece, Jazzmyn Winkley; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Aug. 11 from 1-3PM at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Rd., Albion, NY 14411.
