Kathryn B. (Slattery) Figeac-Kochanowski

Kathryn B. (Slattery) Figeac-Kochanowski passed away on May 25, 2023 after a fierce battle with breast cancer at the Lipson Cancer Center in Batavia. Kathie was well known and well loved there for her positive attitude. She never said, “why me?” but always said, “ok what can we try next?” She battled until the very end.

Kathie was born at Arnold Gregory Memorial Hospital in Albion on September 20, 1966. She lived in Knowlesville until moving to Kissimmee, Florida in 1980. She graduated from Osceola High School in Kissimmee, Florida in 1984. Kathie married the love of her life, Larry Kochanowski on October 31, 2003. They relocated back to Medina in 2008 and thoroughly enjoyed everything that Medina had to offer.

Kathie was employed in the Accounts Payable department of Student Transportation of America in Lockport where she had many co-workers that became amazing friends. It wasn’t uncommon to hear Kathie talk about the mechanics in the garage as her “work husbands”. They took special care of her after the passing of her husband in 2021 during her cancer battle.

Kathie is survived by her father, Larry Slattery of Medina; mother, Joan Davidson of Kissimmee, FL; sisters, Jacqueline (Rick) Haley of Hudson, FL; Lorna (Spike) Fleming of Tavares, FL and special cousin, Michael (Tracy) Cliff of Waterport.  She was predeceased by her loving husband, Larry Kochanowski, who died from Covid on Nov 15, 2021 and a son Branden Joseph Wells who died in infancy April 11, 1996.

Keeping with Kathie’s wishes, there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
