Robert G. Hiller

Robert Gerald Hiller, of Medina, passed into glory on Sunday, January 15, 2023 after battling a swift and aggressive kidney cancer.

Born on December 14, 1962, he was a son of the late Gerald Robert Hiller and Shirley Virginia (Fox) Hiller. Bob attended Alfred State College, where he met his wife, Lee Walker. After marrying and living in Greece, NY for a couple years, the couple moved back home to Medina to help the Walker family run Lake Plaines Implements. After those doors closed due to family illness, Bob worked for Niagara Ford in Wrights Corners for ten years. Wanting to branch out on his own, he came back to the implement building in Medina, still owned by the family, and opened Lake Plains Agri-Parts for a few years. The opportunity to work with the public at the Medicine Shoppe Pharmacy in Medina came along. We will forever be grateful to owners Paul Grout and Rick Mufford for their leadership and the opportunity for Bob to do a job he loved. Bob then worked a short period in the maintenance department at Medina Memorial Hospital before his tired body said “enough”. Over the past six years, Bob remodeled the family homestead room by room, creating a haven for family get-togethers, holidays and celebrations of all kinds.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Lee Hiller; sons, Bradley Hiller and Andrew Hiller; daughter, Bailey Hiller; six grandchildren; his mother, Shirley Hiller; brothers, David (Paula) Coleman, Gary (Lori) Coleman and Tom (Stephanie) Hiller; sister, Becky (late Bruce) Toter; several brothers and sisters in-law, nieces and nephews; and many very dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ridgewood Bible Church, 7073 Ridge Rd., Lockport, NY 14094. Pastor Chuck Jennings will officiate. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, Medina.
