William J. Farrell

William J. Farrell, age 88, of Medina, entered into rest on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

Born December 5, 1935 in Medina, he was a son of the late William C. and Nora M. (Donegan) Farrell. A lifelong farmer, Bill grew up in Shelby. He raised beef cows, pigs and grew crops. On August 17, 1974 he married the former Diane L. Blount at St. Mary’s RC Church in Medina. The couple have resided on Hellert Road ever since. Bill enjoyed spending time on his property as well as helping other farms. He enjoyed fixing his tractors and driving around visiting his friends and neighbors. Bill especially loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents he is predeceased by a grandson, Dawson Doran; and two brothers, Jack and Daniel Farrell.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Diane Farrell of Medina; daughter, Nora Farrell Seaman of Middleport; stepchildren, Jack (Tawnya) Doran and Tammie (Ronald Jr.) Washak both of Medina; grandchildren, Hallie Seaman, Ethan Brown, Tyler (Crystal) Luckman and Meadow Washak.

A graveside committal service will be held on Wednesday, May 29 at 11AM in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Medina.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund, PO Box 684, Medina, NY 14103. Arrangements are in the care of Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina.
