Mr. John R. Boyer, of Middleport, passed away on February 2, 2017 at the Buffalo General Hospital.
Mr. Boyer was born in Franklinville, January 25, 1936, a son of the late William and Lillian Boyer. He served in the US Army from 1956-58. He was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC for several years and was a bartender at the Johnny Appleseed Lounge at the Apple Grove Inn for many years. He was a member of UAW Local #686, Lincoln Post #1483, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Jr. Wilson Sportsmen’s Club and an exempt member of the Middleport Vol. Fire Company.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 59 years, Jerry (Sipple) Boyer; 3 children, Bambi Fearby, Melinda Murray and Christopher Boyer; 3 grandchildren, Matthew J, Fearby, Caitlin (Nic) Elliot and Kyrstin Sponaugle; 3 great grandchildren, Keara Fearby, Shane Fearby and Bailey Elliot; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William A. Boyer in 1999.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Saturday, Feb. 11, 2017 at 11AM at Boxwood Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion.
