Mr. Tom J. Flick, of Medina, passed away on March 5, 2017 at the Medina memorial Hospital.
Mr. Flick was born in Geneva, NY, October 13, 1943, a son of the late Clifford and Lois (Steadman) Flick. A US Army veteran, Tom served from 1963-65. He was employed by the NYS Canal Corporation, as an engineer, and retired in 1999 after 31 years of service. He attended the Knowlesville United Methodist Church. Tom was the “Mayor of Porter Road” and enjoyed watching the world from his porch. He loved animals, camping, and was a NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne (Riches) Flick whom he married on January 4, 1969; children, Glenda (Douglas Merle) Shervin, Robert (Sue) Flick and Lisa (Brian) Boyle; Joseph from his first marriage; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and one on the way; sisters, Barbara (Richard) Mearns of Alabama, Alice Case of Middleport, Mary Dona of Medina, twin brother, Fred; and his sister-in-law, Donna Riches. The twins were known as “Tommy Tinker and Freddy Stinker”. He was Uncle Tom to six nephews and nieces, including Sarah, who always made him laugh. Tom was predeceased by his parents; brothers, John, Jerry and James Flick and his brothers-in-law, Melvin Riches and Harold Case.
Friends may call on Wednesday (3-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. His funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11AM at the funeral home followed by military honors under the auspices of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. Interment will be later in the spring at Bates Road Cemetery.
