Mr. Robert L. “Pinky” Wilson, of Medina, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Buffalo General Hospital. Bob was born in Medina, October 29, 1935, the only child of the late Arthur and Catherine (Maxon) Wilson. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1954, he married the former Joyce Kenward in 1955. He was employed by Niagara Mohawk Power Corporation, as a line foreman, for 39 years, retiring in 1993. Pinky was a devout Catholic and a long time communicant at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish/St. Mary’s Church. A third degree member of Medina Council #651, Knights of Columbus, he served as a Past Grand Knight of the Medina Council. He was an avid golfer and member of Shelridge Country Club where he enjoyed many years of his retirement pursuing his passion for golf. He was also a social member of the Medina VFW, member of the Elks Club and Jr. Wilson Sportsmen’s Club. Pinky was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Joyce; 2 sons, Jeff Wilson of Medina and Tom (Deb Balcerzak Wilson) of Hummelstown, PA; 5 grandchildren, Sean (Stephanie) Maroney, Kyle (Laura) Maroney, Michael (Sarah) Scholes, Jacob Wilson, and Brad Wilson; 5 great grandchildren, Lucie Scholes, Liam Scholes, Cooper Maroney, Harper Maroney and Aidan Maroney; his sister in law: Joanne Gardner; nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Paul, on Sept, 13, 2015. There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Parish, 211 Eagle St., Medina, NY 14103 or Hospice of Orleans, POB 489, Albion, NY 14411
