Mr. Cornelius “Neil” Crowley, 86, of Medina, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2017 at the Martin-Linsin Residence in Albion.
Born January 19, 1931 in Medina, Mr. Crowley was a son of the late Francis Carl and Agnes (Coffey) Crowley. A graduate of Medina High School, class of 1948, he served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954. On August 18, 1956 he married the former Barbara Kennedy. Mr. Crowley was employed by the New York State Department of Corrections, at the Attica Correctional Facility and retired as a Captain from the Elmira Correctional Facility in 1987. He was a member of Lincoln Post #1483, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion. Mr. Crowley enjoyed fishing, playing golf and also enjoyed a good martini every now and then.
Mr. Crowley was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Crowley on June 14, 1995.
He is survived by four children, Kathleen A. (Nicholas) Bucciarelli, Carla J. Crowley, Cynthia M. Crowley and Timothy W. (Patricia) Crowley; four grandchildren, Megan and Ryan Crowley, Christopher and Andrew Bucciarelli; his brother Richard M. Crowley; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by four siblings, Thomas, John “Harp”, Paul and Ruth Marie Crowley.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Daniel J. Fawls on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish, St. Mary’s Church in Medina. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by members of Lincoln Post #1483 Veterans of Foreign Wars and Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Orleans- PO Box 489, Albion, NY 14411.
