Duane Gordon McPherson

Mr. Duane Gordon McPherson passed away after an extended illness at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY on April 12th, 2018.

Duane is survived by his wife Rebecca Jean McPherson (Whedon), his loving son Shannon McPherson (Shelby) of Webster, NY and daughter Charlene McPherson - Goldner (Maurice) of New York City.

Loved by sister in law Nancy Wasnock (Donald); sisters Dianna Massey, Donna Thompson (Rolly) & Charlene Payne, brother Carl McPherson; nieces Amy Lynn Wasnock ( Scott)  Shari Ingalsbe Maak (Michael) Sandra Belson ( Christopher) Paula Dawson Webb ( Troy) Patty Dawson-Shaulis, Faith McPherson; nephews Scott McPherson, Steven McPherson; Shawn Ingalsbe (Janet) ; great nephew William Plummer; grandchildren Key McPherson, Kirsten McPherson Shepanski (Joshua) Riley McPherson and great grandchildren Zoe & Averi McPherson & Brey, Beckley & Jones Shepanski.

Born to the late Norma and Carl McPherson in 1946, Duane was raised in Medina, NY. Duane proudly served in the US Navy from 1963 - 1967, raised his children in his hometown of Medina, NY and eventually retired from Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY.

The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother and that he truly did. Duane was a consistently grumpy yet fun, music loving man who loved to play golf, fish, listen to the Eagles, spend time with his loving wife and revel in the adventures of his children & grandchildren. 

Friends may call on Monday, April 16, (6-8) at Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center Street, Medina, NY.  A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at Boxwood Cemetery in Medina, NY where military honors will be accorded by members of Lincoln Post #1483, VFW and Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion.
