The Reverend Paul H. Letiecq, of Albion, passed away on November 7, 2018.
Reverend Letiecq was born in Buffalo, April 7, 1934, a son of the late Henry and Jeanette (Hull) Letiecq. As a child his family moved to Briarcliff Manor, NY where he graduated from Briarcliff High School. He graduated from Brown University and Princeton Seminary in 1963.
He married the former Margaret “Peg” Goodspeed on August 20, 1955. In 1982, they moved to Holley where he served as the Pastor of the Holley Presbyterian Church for ten years. He later served as the Pastor of the Universalist Church of Middleport for over twenty years.
Rev. Letiecq was a member and past president of the Cobblestone Society, Planned Parenthood, and active with the prison ministry at the Orleans and Groveland Correctional Facilities. He was an active member of the Gaines Carlton Community Church. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing tennis. He loved gardening, nature, birds and camping with family and friends. He was a supporter of National Public Radio and the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra.
Survivors include three sons, Russell (Sue) Letiecq of Easton, PA, Laurence (Kimberly Wagner) Letiecq of Phillipsburg, NJ and Jonathan (Angelika Alvarez) Letiecq of Albion, NY; brothers Lawrence Letiecq of Sandy Creek, NY and Norman Letiecq of Elkton, MD; sister-in-law, Shirley Letiecq of Sunderland, VT; nephew William Bostwick of Albion, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, in 2008, son, Andrew in 2011 and brother, Phillip in 2012.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 22nd at 1 p.m. at the Gaines Carlton Community Church, 4585 Ridge Rd. W., Albion, NY 14411. Rev. David Beach will officiate. Memorials may be made to the Cobblestone Society or Gaines Carlton Community Church.
