Glenn A. Stalker, 88, of Medina, entered into rest on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

Born October 25, 1931 in Lyndonville, Glenn was the son of the late George W. and Carrie (Santimaw) Stalker. He graduated from Lyndonville High School in the class of 1950. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. and proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1951-54. Shortly after returning from the war, he married the love of his life, the former Emily Sledzik on May 29, 1954. The couple made their home in Medina and raised a family of three children, Lorie, Carol and Christine. Mr. Stalker had a 23 year career with Phinney Tool & Die and then at E&M Enterprise, retiring in 1988. Glenn loved sports. He played for the MAAC football team from 1954-58. He was also an avid tennis player. He and his friend, Milford Phinney played every morning, from the time the nets were put up in the spring, until they were taken down in the fall. Glenn also played on the Sacred Heart baseball team and enjoyed bowling and softball. One of his other ventures was as a pilot, attaining his small craft license in the 1970’s.  He was a longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus R.C. Church and Holy Trinity R.C. Parish, in Medina. Active in the community, Mr. Stalker was a member of the Village of Medina Board of Trustees from 1970-82 and was involved in the Citizen’s Party. He also served as Deputy Mayor. He was an active member of the Sacred Heart Club, Butts-Clark Post #204 American Legion, Medina Council #651 Knights of Columbus.

Mr. Stalker was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Emily M. Stalker on June 24, 2019; his grandson, Sgt. Trevor T. Cook, USMC on July 6, 2011; four brothers, George, Wayne (June), Don, and Alan (June) Stalker; and sister, Mildred (Paul) Bane.

He is survived by his three daughters, Lorie (Bob) Gilligan, Carol (David) Cook and Christine Barone; five grandchildren, Lisa Marciniak, Jessica Balcer, Chelsea Cook (Keegan Jenks), Andrea (Joe) Baldi and Alyssa (Chris) Kragor; four great-grandchildren, Keirha Marciniak, Morgan Balcer, Joseph and Renzo Baldi; his brother Richard (Linda) Stalker, and several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, October 10th at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity R.C. Parish, St. Mary’s Church, 211 Eagle St., Medina. He will be laid to rest at a future date, alongside his wife at Sacred Heart Cemetery where full military honors will be accorded by members of the Butts-Clark Post #204, American Legion and Lincoln Post #1483, VFW.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Knights-Kaderli Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 684, Medina, NY 14103.
