Mrs. Patricia A. Martino, of Lyndonville, passed away on June 26, 2016 at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Martino was born in Norwich, NY, December 4, 1942, a daughter of the late Edward and Catherine (Slaucenburg) Gadamowitz. She was a graduate of Buffalo State College, class of 1964, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. On November 28, 1964, she married Russell Martino.
Mrs. Martino began her career as a special education teacher in the Medina Central School District in September, 1964. She taught in the Oak Orchard Elementary School and the Wise Junior High School, retiring in 1998. She was a member of the NYSUT, Medina Teachers Association and served as MTA social chairwoman for several years. In retirement, Pat loved taking care of and doting on her grandchildren, traveling with friends to Cancun, Mexico and she enjoyed many cruise ship vacations.
Survivors include her husband, Russell Martino; 2 daughters, Darcy (Jeff) Annable and Tina (Mark) Prawel; 4 grandchildren whom she loved, Matthew Prawel, Emily and Kylie Annable and Jessica Annable; her sister, Kathleen “Teenie” (Jim) Sneddon; brother-in-law, Anthony Martino; sister-in-law, Carolyn (Harry) Edmiston; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Linda (Tim) DuMond.
Friends may call on Tuesday (4-7) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 W. Center St., Medina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church, Medina, by the Rev. Daniel J. Fawls. Interment will be in Lynhaven Cemetery.
