Mr. Stanley J. “Spider” Yaskivich, of Medina, passed away on July 26, 2016 at the Medina Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Yaskivich was born in Medina, October 25, 1928, a son of the late Edward and Stella (Filips) Yaskivich. A graduate of Sacred Heart School, he served with the US Army from 1950-52. On November 12, 1952, he married the former Evelyn Andrews and was a lifelong resident of Medina. He was employed by Harrison Radiator Division of GMC, as a tool and die setter, retiring in 1986 after 34.6 years of service. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, former member of Sacred Heart of Jesus RC Church, was a member of the Sacred Heart Club and UAW Local 686. Spider was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his daughter, Gail M. Yaskivich; his son, Dennis Yaskivich; 2 brothers, Raymond of California and Lenard of Medina; a sister-in-law, Florence Andrews of Medina; a brother-in-law, John Pahura of Albion; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Evelyn, on May 15, 2013; 2 brothers, Walter, in 1971 and Francis S. “Hank” in 1992 and his sister, Dorothy Pahura.
Friends may call on Thursday (6-9) at the Cooper Funeral Home, 215 West Center St., Medina. The Rev. Daniel J. Fawls will celebrate his Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10AM at Holy Trinity Parish/St. Mary’s Church. Interment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
